I have lived in Yerevan, and go back at least once a year. Shirvan is my favorite restaurant there, If I have been there once, I have been a hundred times. They specialize in the simple foods that Iranians eat daily. At home, at work, at play. The main courses include kabobs and stews. There is also leg of lamb and one or two fish dishes. Having lived in Iran, I can confirm that Shirvan serves the real stuff My favorite meal is the Ghormeh sabzi, or beef simmered in a puree of spinach and greens. For sides I like the mast o khayar (cucumbers in yoghurt, seasoned with dill and resembling raita). Another good side is the salad-e Shirazi (tomato and cucumber, a bit of onion). Being an Iranian restaurant, flat bread and fresh greens are always available. A full range of alcoholic and soft drinks is available. My favorite drink is the dugh (essentially a lassi favored in an Iranian style). The menu is in English and Persian with pictures, so you can see what you are getting. The wait staff does not speak English, but one of the managers is fluent. Now my favorite part. Shirvan has been in place for several years and Iranian tourists are often present. They folks are invariably polite and friendly, and let me tell you, Shirvan is a better place to get to know real Iranians than western news papers.

The kabab was great, the place is small but that doesn't matter

Small and cozy restaurant which decorated with Persian carpets. Polite and kind staff who is native with Farsi and Armenian language. Unfortunately you can't find any vegetarian food of Persian cuisine and we had to order a vegetable pizza. There are lots of Persian Vegetarian food which are unique all over the world, I wonder why they didn't provide any of them.

Tasting iranian food for me was really nice... Mine experience was good..
