Went on the Soviet era Yerevan tour, guided by Edgar (?), and highly recommend it. Informative and a lot of fun. Edgar was able to give us real insights not just about the Soviet times and influences, but also Armenian culture , politics, history, family life... any question we asked he showed an amazing breadth of knowledge and a keen sense of humour. Still smiling at those much loved jokes my friend! Many thanks.

Best Hostel in town. It offers a good variety of comfortable and clean rooms. Moreover the breakfast is always included, and even if it's not a huge breakfast, it is a good way to start your day. Even the private rooms are really modern and plenty of space. If you are visiting Yerevan, indeed this is to place where to stay.

I did the Essential Armenia tour - it was a great day, in large part due to our brilliant guide Shushan. She did an excellent job providing interesting information, answering a lot of questions about Armenia (it was pretty impressive the range of information she could recall), providing interesting anecdotes about daily life, while keeping the tour fun and social. She created an excellent vibe amongst the group, so good for solo travellers. The tour stayed the right amount of times at each location - was well balanced mix of attractions. Shushun also went beyond the call of duty in providing recommendations things to do and places to eat in Yerevan, as we as tipping the group off on a great gig by some legendary Armenian bands that was happening that week (which was one the highlights of trip). Professional and fun - highly recommended!
