At least in the winter, buses to Garni left from street parking pretty much exactly where the geotag is. Some buses are marked, some aren’t. There should be people standing around next bus leaving. Even though the bus was not full, it left at the time the driver told us it would (for us ~20min wait). Bus became full with stops en route.

This is the place to take the Marshrutka-minibus to Garni and Geghard monastery (although it won't go all the way to the monastery, final stop is a '45-minute walk to Geghard monastery,it can be done if you're adventurous). Since there is no exact schedule, waiting time was really annoying,I guess I waited an hour and a half but the Marshrutka-experience itself was terrific and an old local lady offered me apples and snacks during the short trip :)

This is the bus station, or more precisely a open dusty area, where you take a bus to Garni. (Sep 2012)

One of the ways to Garni-Goght by a bus. Using my own experience for over 5 years there are no schedules. Drivers drive when the bus is full or even crowded. It get's ok after 3 bus stations (Untill Vogjhaberd ).

Take the bus number 44 or 5 at 7 o'clock to the center of the cascade, get off at the bus stop of the General Guy or the Mercedes store, and then take a short walk along the bypass. The Garni temple can be boarded on bus 265 or 266. Note that it is not like a bus stop at all.
