I didn't actually check in as the attitude of the manager (I believe her name is Armina) was so disgusting I walked away from the booking. I echo the sentiments of many of the negative reviews you'll see. Do not be fooled, I'm certain that some of the "positive" reviews are actually fake plus please know that they intentionally advertise cheaper prices as bait to lure you to the premises with the intention of an upsell (sometimes with downright lies). The real problem is the manager who will either be dishonest or nasty. There are much better places in Yerevan for (genuinely) similar prices. Don't waste your time with Old Yerevan Hostel and Tours.

One of the cheapest hostels in town. Not bad at all. It's in a great location, it's sort of cozy, the staff is usually friendly and the coffee is free. It's a good value for that price.

Worst hostel ever. Reserved a room, they contacted me stating that I am not welcome because I am from the same city and that I might use the room for love rendezvous, the thing is I did not even mention who my guest was, totally unacceptable.

Cozy and clean place to stay in. A big kitchen is equipped. Notice that the location shown on the google map is not correct. Go on walking straight until you see an arch with an green “14” on the northeast of it.

Do yourself a favour and stay away from this place. Really. The bathrooms were in very bad condition, awful smell, abundant pee in and around the toilet and impossible to shower with a bit of privacy (especially for women). The room was not all that clean and everything was falling apart. The mattresses were like chewing gum. Our main issue was that it was as cold inside our room during the daytime as it was outside - perhaps 2, 3 degrees Celsius. Not pleasant if you can't take off your coat inside. But definitely, the worst of it all was the manager's attitude. I have not encountered anybody as mean as the woman in charge in my travels. When confronted with the awful state of things, she did not care. She told us she was 'very busy' and disregarded our concerns, pretending to be uber-occupied. Then she offered an upgrade (at an extra cost, of course). Clearly, she was trying to make a buck out of our desperation. After we told her we'd do a night only, and if that she did not like that she was free to call the police, she asked for my passport to scan it. Hurt by us confronting her, she kept me waiting for a long, long time while she tended to other things. Dystopian experience. Just... go somewhere else. This is a cheap place but don't worry if you are on a budget, just shop around and you will find something better for the same price. By the way, I have the feeling that many of the positive references here are not legit.
